Pickle "Sushi"

May 27, 2022

These are a childhood favorite of mine. The salty pickle pairs well with the savory salami and sweet cream cheese. Make these for a charcuterie board or just to snack on, as they are just that good!

How to Make

When making this recipe, make sure to pat the pickles dry, this will make sure they stick to the cream cheese and not unravel. The pickles I used for this recipe are more of a medium sized dill, not as big as a Vlasic original whole dill pickle.

Each pickle gets two slices of salami with cream cheese wrapped around it. This is partially for flavor balance, but also because the salami doesn't always fully wrap around the pickle. After wrapping the first slice of salami, use the second slice to hide the ends of the first one. Then slice it up and enjoy!

Pickle "Sushi"

Makes 16 pieces

Total Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 4 Whole Dill Pickles
  • 8 Slices Salami
  • 1/3 Block Cream Cheese

Instructions:

  1. Lay out your eight slices of salami and spread about 1/2 Tbsp. of cream cheese on each slice. I find it easier to spread the cream cheese with the back of a spoon.
  2. Pat the pickles dry to help them stick to the cream cheese, then wrap the salami/cream cheese slices around the pickles - cream cheese side on the pickle. Then wrap the second slice of salami/cream cheese on each pickle, covering the ends of the first slice.
  3. Slice the pickle sushi roll in half and then half again, making 4 pieces.
  4. Enjoy!
